Folding, Folding, Folding...

I worked on the pinks last night. I found some fabrics that would work well for birds, but I already have a lot of pink birds. I set the fabric aside anyway because you never know...

I'm not done, but I'm getting there. I am glad I am making myself do this though, because hidden in there I am finding fabric that I am no longer in love with. I have decided NOT to put them back in the stash. I don't know what I'll do just yet, but I will probably bundle them up and leave them on a table in the cafeteria at work with a "Free" sign. The last time I did that they disappeared pretty quick.  There's no place in your stash for fabric you can't stand or know you'll never use.

Speaking of work:

I work for a manufacturing company, and this is one of the three loading dock bays. Yesterday the temperature hit the 60's and all three doors were open, letting in the fresh air and sunshine. I admit I stood out there for several long minutes taking it all in.

Although to be perfectly frank with you, being outside in a warm coat on a 40F degree day is nice too. I actually like winter.

I received a lovely compliment from Donnalee a day or so ago: "Bought you[r] pattern, now I am hooked. Made eight of these guys over the last couple days. I did make one error and the neck is longer on one of the birds I made. I liked him so well, I made another... Love the ability to play a bit with the pattern as you suggested."

That's what I like to hear. I always tell my students "I want you to make YOUR quilts, not just copy mine."

If you like my birds and want to make some, you can get my tutorial here, at my Etsy shop. It's an instant download, so you can get started right away.

I totally agree about "outgrown" fabric and not letting it take up valuable storage space. Giving it away to someone who is excited by it feels much better than being guilted by it from your own shelves.

Exactly ;-) Even if you love the fabric, if you know you really won't use it, it doesn't do any good marinating in the stash....in fact, it can get in the way and/or be a guilt gremlin!

I also sorted out fabric yesterday, and have 3 bags to go to a friend to leave out for the group she belongs to.
