Getting Ready

I've been working to get the studio ready for Julie's visit in June. We talked about how I should arrange her work area. It meant I had to rearrange my studio.

I've set up a workspace for Julie at the end of the studio. We want to keep the recliner in the room so we will have a comfy place to sit and chat, so I had swapped it's place with my small work table.

In the far corner of the studio I have placed my small work table, raised so Julie can work standing up.

I set up my Bernina on the portable table against the far window. I will move my office chair for Julie to use while sewing. You can see Julie's bin under the worktable.

So now the room is pretty much ready. We are planning on doing a lot of sewing, We're planning a lot of stuff, including a trip to the Seacoast, and into Maine, since Julie has never been.

All looking good, and you are so organised in plenty of time.

Boy am I jealous. You two are going to have a blast?!!
I'm hoping the cat tower in the corner means you might adopt another kitty...

So much fun ahead. Studio space is my favorite kind of space. My favorite place in Maine is the Marginal Way in Ogunquit, Maine. Walking along there is such a treat. I have never been way up in Maine as it is a far drive from Buffalo. Southern Maine is always a wonderful time.

I found this post really interesting Lynne because I wouldn't know how to sew with someone else. One of my girlfriends invited me over to her home to sew in her studio one day. I didn't go because I simply didn't know how to do that. I've only ever sewn by myself. All my stuff is here at home. I don't go to workshops or retreats, so I have no experience of selecting stuff, packing it up and taking it somewhere else to sew with other people. I'll be very interested to read the posts during the time that Julie is with you for some clues on how you do it.
