Remember Me?

Reorganizing my stash is moving along. I set aside the blues and teals so I could start (and finish) the lavenders and light purples.

While doing it, I found this fabric, which I had completely forgotten about.

The floral print was large, so I had to make this bird a bit bigger than "normal." The other fabrics were also discovered during the stash cleaning.

Donnalee from California bought the tute recently, and been making birds. She wrote about her experience. It's always fun for me to read these stories. You can read hers here.

If you want to try your hand at these birds, you can get my tutorial here, at my Etsy shop. It's filled with information on making your own birds, fat birds, skinny birds, big birds, baby birds, fun and silly birds. The tutorial is an instant download, so you can get started right away.

Thanks for sharing the link to her beginner bird-making post. I think we all felt a bit overwhelmed with the first bird and then we took off and made hundreds more. Your tutorial is AWESOME and well worth every one of those many pages.

I also love making these birds - need to start making more. What do you do with the fussy cut remnants after you cut out the wing? Do you fold it all back up or cut it up into different sizes? Just looking for what to do with the swiss cheese fabric. Thank you!

Your stash is starting to look more organized now! And I know that feels good. It's fun to re-discover fabrics not seen for awhile. It makes me smile that you immediately had to use it! LOL

I had sorted my fabrics similar to the way you have and it is so much easier to find something! Looking good and love the bird!
