Red Sticks

OK, Here is a photo of the completed Red Sticks quilt. It's bright sun out, so I can't hang it on the fence just yet.  Everybody who sees this quilt loves it, which kind of surprises me since most folks don't name RED as their favorite color.  Anyway, I'll post more photos of this quilt as soon as I can.

Several people asked me yesterday if I am REALLY going to donate that quilt to the victims of the Colorado fires.

The answer is YES.  I was the recipient of the generosity of a lot of cat lovers when they raised money to send me to my goddaughter's funeral several years ago.  Donating a quilt is a way to repay that generosity.  Plus, it's just the right thing to do. I have an extra quilt that won't be doing anything, and there are dozens of families who have lost EVERYTHING. It's the least I can do.

Perhaps you can join me and donate a quilt of your own.

I have been wondering when I would see your sticks quilt finished. I especially like your red on red pieced border.

I have been collecting yellow fabrics for a similar quilt after seeing Freddy Moran and Gwen Marston's version at a Collaborative Quilting workshop a couple years ago. I have a yellow demo block signed by Freddy to put in there somewhere.

I think it's admirable that you are giving your quilt to the Colorado Fire Relief. Someone may even be encouraged to build their new bedroom around your gorgeous quilt.

Oh, this quilt is outstandingly gorgeous. I can understand how someone who didn't even know they liked red would be won over by this example. Wow. And it gives me ideas for other colorways......I would love to do this with blues or greens....but I won't top THIS one !

I'm one of those quirky folks for which red is a favorite color... Actually, I'm wearing a red blouse as we speak :o) This is a wonderful quilt!!
I think it is awesome that you are donating a quilt to CO fire victims, it is the right thing to do.
Have a great day.

Love your red sticks. (Red is my fav color, too.)
I would donate a quilt to the CO fire victims, but I'd have to make one first. I haven't one of my own... all the ones I've made were gifts or donated already. Too many causes, too little time. You gotta pic your causes, too.
Hugs
