I was talking to my brother Mr Cabinetmaker about the painting I'm doing in my kitchen. "Oh, I open a can of paint, and I'm bored already" he said when I told him that I actually liked to paint. Too funny.
I mentioned to Julie that I had trouble painting because the shelves weren't far apart and my brush kept getting stuck. "Treat yourself to a brush with a shorter handle - life's too short to struggle." So I bought one when I bought a can of white (pure white) paint for the finish coat of the hutch.
Got home and painted the hutch. I didn't put more paint on the back or walls because the plan is to wallpaper that.
Here's what that might look like. You can see the new microwave.
OH! The vent on the new range hood works great! The old one didn't do much and my smoke detector used to go off whenever I used the broiler or grilled something on the stove even if I had the vent running.
Miss Pat mentioned how she was amazed that I got the things done that I want to get done. I have heard that before. My father was like that too. He used to outwork guys half his age. My mother always says she's amazed at all the stuff I accomplish. My son calls me the Energizer Bunny. I don't have any magic answer. It's just the way I am.
Apparently Wanda is rearranging too. She said it was like opening a can of worms. I want it to be done because I want my kitchen back Hopefully everything will be done by the end of this week so I can FINALLY spend some serious time in the studio.

It is good you can do what is necessary and more. Everything looks wonderful in the direction you are going.
Looking fabulous!
I have replaced stove vent fans with microwaves 3 times now and recommend them over just a vent fan. I love how your kitchen is coming along and I expect it will beautiful, your bathroom sure is. I also collect blue and white dishes and I have loved them now for over 20 years. I’m sick of painting, I started at about age 8 so that means I’ve painted for about 69 years, whole houses. Listening to a book is best, takes the monotony out of it. Looking forward to the finish.
That wall paper is perfect! Looks great already.
I love those short stubby brushes with the softer flexible handles - they're awesome for sore joints. Your hutch is going to be fabulous when you are all done.
