Great idea to use leftover fabrics from other projects to develop the shapes you will use before cutting into the fabrics you've selected for your blue ice quilt. Your tinkering includes some beautiful ideas. The fourth picture almost looks like Escher birds in flight. I look forward to seeing how you settle on the design that you prefer as you continue to creatively tinker and think.
I also like the fourth idea. It gives me images of whales diving into the deep. Beautiful way to use scraps from previous projects and who knows you may be able to make a whole quilt that can be called Modern Sampler.

Using 2 different blocks for reference, wouldn't E.Q. let you do all the rearranging, until you see a result you like? Just a thought :)
