Getting Back to... Normal?

This is the view into my studio from the door. The design wall is at the end of the room on the far right.

This is the view looking back towards the house. One big mess. I have to clear off the tables so I have room to work on the next step.
.
Cherie wanted to know how many squares I started with. I don't have a clue, but these are all the squares I have left over. It's a lot.

I had my dad over to dinner on Sunday night. This is him as he sat in my studio telling me what he thought of the colorwash quilt. I'm pretty sure you can tell he liked it even though you don't get to hear a word he said.

The hardest part of every project is cleaning up. All those decisions where to group, put away is very tiring. People think creative stuff just happens and don't realize how hard or involved the whole process is.

These pictures generate so many warm and friendly feelings...feels just like home to me! And when it gets picked up and put away and you get to start on a fresh new project..........aaaaaaahhh! Thanks for sharing!

I am impressed with the number of tables you have to work with, even if it does mean more horizontal surfaces to clean. Looks like an artist at work!

I ended up making a scrappy four patch quilt with all the squares I had left over. Glad you dad approves (how could he NOT).

It is worth all the mess to get that result! I don't have a studio, but my dining room looks similar!

There is a point when we just have to clean and it usually sparks more ideas for me. Win win.

No matter how old we get, it's always a joy to share our work with our parents, isn't it?
