A Big Deal

Yeah, so this isn't a big deal for most of you, but for me it is enormous. I was lying on the couch reading when Millie walked right up my legs and settled down in my lap, facing me, and stayed there.

I have had Millie 13 years and this is the first time she has done that when I am NOT covered with a quilt. And even then, she usually turns around so her butt faces me. (For those of you who do not know, I adopted a feral cat. The vet describes her as "a tame feral cat.")

I have joined Wanda's Colorwash class and am cutting six gazillion 2.5" squares and sorting them by color and value.  This is the purple tray.

When it gets chilly out, my cat will condescend to sit on me. You will love Wanda's class!

Millie, it is about time you cuddled with your human. Lovely to suck the warms from. Good to see you as well.

Love your purples. Seems rude to us but, a cat turning and facing her/his back/butt to you is a sign of trust. Millie has loved you all this time.

I know that feeling so well, and Millie, let this be the first of many.

I am a big fan of yours and Wanda's, and happen to also be taking the class so feel honored to join your company! I'm a hobby quilter with lots of sewing background but need to understand color better. Looking forward to seeing what everyone does in the class.

Perhaps you've finally passed the test with Millie?! We had a cat that would only sit with my husband (I think I jumped up to often to tend the laundry, etc.). If I sat still for a very long time, when he was out of town, she might consider sitting with me. Who knows the whims of a cat. Now those purples are fabulous.

OMG, OMG, omg!!! This is huge and only possible because you are the best feral cat mom, giving her space and time.

Wow, that's wonderful!! Who knows what goes on in a kitty's head. Hop this just the first of many lap session.
The purples are delicious!

That is big-time! Kitty warmth is the best, though one of mine picks the damn hottest days of the year to share his with me... wouldn't trade it for the world, though.

So who blinked first? Did Millie jump off your lap before you finally had to let out a breath and get up or did you wait her out? Such a wonderful moment. I know I would have been reluctant to give up such a special treat.
