Yellow Chevrons

All day yesterday I sewed strips and cut long triangles. Two of them are needed to make one long lozenge shape.

Each pair of strips has a calm one and a busier one.

Although I could get four triangles from one strip set, I only cut enough to make the chevrons you can see.

I'll use the rest to fill in the triangles at the top an bottom. This is the first go-round, and the fabric layout isn't set in stone.

There are 32 different yellows, and the idea is to make them play nicely together.

Check this out! The layout of blocks in this quilt (Parade of Zebras) is EXACTLY the same as the yellow quilt above. The only difference is the color. Pretty cool, huh?

The yellows remind me of a Klimt painting.

I like the yellow version a lot -- Parade of Zebras is cool but I find it a bit jarring. The all-yellow version, like Linda mentioned, has a very Klimt-vibe to it.
