Not Paper Pieced

Among folks who view my quilts for the first time, it is the first thing they think,"Oh, that's paper-pieced."

Not one of my quilts is paper-pieced. I correct people all the time.

In fact, Julie was standing near one of my quilts at an AQS show somewhere and heard that comment. She turned around to face whoever said it "No, that is NOT paper-pieced. None of this quilter's work is paper-pieced."

My free pieced letters are not paper-pieced either, and I have put that in the first sentence of the description, but I have decided to make a quilt that emphasizes that point. You may remember the post a few days ago when I called a time out.

Well, I'm gonna do it. These letters are from my "duds" bin, and are there as placeholders. Yes, I have designed a NO to go at the top. I  love the "Ghastlies" and will be using a few bits from each of the Ghastlies fabrics that I have.

This lady is going to sit atop the T in QUILT, and I plan to use one the the Ghastlies' pissed-off cats in there somewhere.

And I'm thinking of having a lot of little NOs all over the place. Maybe they will make a border?  I dunno, but I sure am going to have fun finding out.

This is the next quilt I will be working on (even though I am still going to make a yellow Zebra striped one and a "Modern" variation.)

Which is kind of amazing, because I -NEVER- have quilts I want to make lined up in my head like some supremely organized people I know (and love.)

Maybe people who think it was paper pieced only know how to do it that way.
You prove them wrong. Your quilts are always beautiful and inspired!
I like the ghastlies too ;)

I have a love-hate relationship with paper piecing. Love to hate doing it. Bravo for you figuring out the piecing.

LOL - I find it thrilling that you have more than one quilt in your head at a time --
