Writing

OK!!!

I am not going to show you a bird today. I am going to talk a bit about fabric choices. The inspiration for today's bird is WRITING!

So I say WRITING and what kinds of fabrics do you think of? Do you think of these?

Well, sure. These are writing. But these are a bit literal, don't you think? We need to expand your idea of WRITING.

How about these?

Letters, labels, numbers, That's good. You should always have a wide variety of fabrics from which to choose.

But did you consider these?

Typewriters, pen nibs, pencils... Yup! The bigger selection of fabrics you have, the more successful your quilts can be.

So what would YOUR bird based on WRITING look like?

LOL - I have almost all of those in my stash and more. LOVE fabrics with text and diagrams/blueprints/maps -(and hey, you need a travel bird ... when I typed the word maps, that thought just popped into my head)!!

I have been collecitng and collecting these fabrics, but have not been able to figure out what to make with them. Hope you can inspire me!

I thought I was doing well to have about 20 fabrics that fall in the writing category, but nowhere near your variety. I do have one with flowers and one with city highlights that both have color to add interest like sparrows and warblers.
