The Christmas decorations have been taken down and put away, the table quilt has been changed and I decided to put the Dark Majesty quilt on the back of the couch.
But first I had to wash it. I used three Color Catchers and I was surprised how dark they were when they came out of the washing machine.
Here are the dirty color catchers with a clean one on top so you can see how dirty they are. What's amazing about this is that I wash ALL my fabric in warm water before I ever let it into the studio.
The Dark Majesty quilt looks so good on the couch, and now that it is soft and wrinkly, it may have found a new permanent home.

Beautiful, and maybe stay there for a long time, with the picture above, a lovely setting.
Beautiful quilt. Looks great and compliments the picture above it.
I love color catchers, but always use a bunch on a large quilt along with a 100% cotton towel that I don't love to get excess color.
It looks right at home there, and ready to keep you cozy should you need it.
The quilt on the back of your couch is stunning!
The colour catchers are really neat and a great idea.

Looks terrific on the couch. Love how quilts are just so versatile- and cozy!
The quilt looks spectacular there -- yes, it should stay! I wash all my fabrics before using them and I've had color catchers come out just like yours. The darker purples and darker blues seem to be the greatest culprits.
Good decision. Dark Majesty looks good on the couch.
Your quilt is beautiful, and looks "just right" on the couch! Yikes! Thank goodness for the color catchers! I've had some come out almost that dark. I agree with Julie - the dark blues and purples seem to be some of the worst offenders. I always pre-wash my fabrics too!
You are so right. The quilt is beautiful against the background of your couch. Great work!
