OK, it's pretty clear I'm addicted to these. WOW, have I really cleaned out the pink, yellow and orange scrap bins.
Having said that, the Selvage Fairy asked what I had had IN them? How small were the pieces I kept.
It was a good thing I turned the bins upside down and emptied them on my ironing table before I got started sewing. There were an amazing number of long strings one inch wide by whatever. Really too small for much good. A lot of it was old fabric I felt no kinship for, so those went into the trash. Small (small!) triangles got tossed too. Anything 2" square or larger was kept, smaller than that, was tossed. I pressed the rest and brought the stack to the sewing machine, were I paired things up. After I pressed it all, I trimmed all the edges square and then matched up another set of pairs. Pressed and trimmed two more times until I had chunks at least 6-1/2" tall - those were good enough to start cutting triangles from. I mixed and matched, trimmed excess and resewed and cut more triangles.
I have a lot of 2-1/2" pink strips left from when I was making the Deco Rose quilt, so those went into the scrap bin. It's a lot less full than it was. I can't wait to go through the others.
The blocks will finish about 6" square, so a quilt would likely have 12 across by 14 or so down, so 168 blocks. I have 18 pink, 26 yellow, 26 orange, and 28 red. That's 98, so I'm well on my way.
What color is next? Dunno. Whatever strikes my fancy when I look at the bins on the shelf. Teal? Acid Green? Medium Blue?

I am loving your triangles! I usually sew big slabs of scraps, but not by color. You are giving me ideas!
I have always loved a triangle quilt and have been reading through your recent posts. Your scrappy triangles are simply gorgeous! I can't wait to see them all together!
Acid Green !!!
