Shuffling Along

So I really wasn't impressed with the Petals layout when I went to bed last night. I most definitely did not want to make traditional "flower" shapes.

I played a little bit with pointing the blocks all "upward," but that didn't sing for me either.

Dunno quite how I ended up with this, but I thought it was an option worth exploring.

I thought it might be fun to make the pink a focus, but I knew I didn't have enough blocks to make a complete "ring."

After about an hour and a half, I had this, and THIS, I like. I like the fact that it's NOT symmetrical or completely predictable.

And believe it or not, except for two, these are the same blocks as in yesterday's post.

YES!!!! Nailed it!

I like it, too. it has a pebble tossed in the pond look. Not concentric but suggestive of it.

I see water ripples around a pink water lily.

Yes! This is one of my "go to" settings. When in doubt I always try it, especially asymemtrical. I like the curved blocks too

Your persistence is admirable! Reminding me not to give up when my original idea isn't working.

I love that you show the progression of your layouts. I can review them and see how the final just sings out, I'm the one. It is spectacular! Really wonderful :)

I too enjoyed seeing your progress pics! I often don't end up where I think I was going to! I love the last setting, very effective & interesting like that. And your colour combo is great!

YES! I agree with Kathy and the Selvage Fairy. A pebble tossed in in a lake, with concentric rings is exactly what I thought when I saw the layout. When I was little I couldn't skip stones on the water, so I spent a lot of time studying the effects of those pebbles plunking in the water.😉
