Over the weekend I was doing errands. As I was getting ready to pull out of my parking place after leaving one local shop, I happened to look over and see the building above. What it is, and where it is, do not matter. What is important is that when I looked over, I saw Inspiration.
What was it that caught my eye? It was the warm blue door surrounded by the cream trim, against the barn red and the brown shingles and the colder white.
I may not do much with this any time soon, but I knew enough to take a photograph for future reference.
Ideas don't just come out of the air. They don't just fall out of the sky. I've been to this shop at least a dozen times, and never "saw" this before. When you see something, and it "hits" you, take notes.

I sort of know what you mean. My eye is not good like yours in seeing things like this (I envy the artist in you and your training), but I often save cards, pictures, pages out of a magazine. I am making an Eskimo themed quilt inspired by a card. I really should pull it out of the drawer. Sixteen years and I really should finish it.
Hope your work week goes well with the upgrades.
There's inspiration everywhere we look. Can't wait to see what transpires from this photo.
Hope the upgrades are going well and you're not too stressed out.
Jumping up and down waving my hand in the air ... I get it!! I get it!! I see things in the iron fences, brick walls, brick buildings, etc. everywhere I go -- a whole folder full of inspiration photos. Just need the jolt of courage to dig in and follow some of those ideas.
A picture is worth a 1,000 words. My notes are almost meaningless after some time goes by. Thanks for the picture idea.
Hugs!
It is a lesson to those of us who drive ourselves crazy trying for perfect symetry, corners, or color-matching.
Sometimes the organic growth of a project over its lifetime is what makes it beautiful.
