This red house block is 18" high by 18-1/2" wide. The houses themselves are really easy. The roofs and background are tricky. The backgrounds always take more fabric than I think they will.
I love, love, love making trees.
My nephew is working on some houses for me, and his Mom will mail them out on Monday. I can't wait!

Your getting quite a collection now. They all look lovely. I can see your having fun, enjoy.
Can't wait to see what your sister and Plus One come up with.
Yes - the background and roof does take up a lot of fabric. Do you keep the triangle for another roof?
That was such a good idea and you are getting some wonderful results. If I were still teaching primary I'd try it. But then I wouldn't have time to quilt. Lol.
Each house is just delightful! I love the house fabric on this one.
This block is great! I haven't tried making trees yet, although I've been very inspired by the "Little House in the Big Woods" quilt in Freddy and Gwen's first book. I agree about the backgrounds too - I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to put the sky around the roof at first.
Love your pine tree! This one's another winner.
Your houses are so fun. Looks like another project I need to add to my every growing list.
Can't wait to see the next ones.
sweet. your nephew is making houses for you???
