I didn't go out yesterday with my friend P because she called me and told me she had lost her driver's license and somehow forgotten to register her car. In September. She was able to register her car online but she has to wait until she gets her new stickers before she can drive anywhere. Because any cop who sees her car will pull her over and while she can prove she did register her car, she doesn't have her driver's license and that will get her in trouble. Not the worst thing that can happen, but this sure does put a kink in her plans over the next few days.
So I spent my morning yesterday sewing the topmost six rows of the quilt together, and then to each other. After my Tai Chi class I went back into the studio to sew the last four rows into blocks and then rows. Because they were close to the floor I had just sort of thrown blocks up on the design wall. I was tinkering when I realized - OOPS, the pinwheels shouldn't be directly above and below each other. Gotta fix that.
But this isn't OK. I will have to add another vertical row of blocks down the left hand side of the quilt.
Sigh.
I can do that. And then when I looked at my notes I realized I had originally planned the quilt to have 18 rows of 16 blocks per row. The rows above have 15 blocks in them. Somewhere along the line I made a mistake. Apparently I can't count for crap. Oh well.
Fortunately, an easy fix.
