A New Flamingo!!

During the Great Kitchen Kitchen Renovation I didn't forget my quilting. I ordered some pinks both for more pink birds (remember those?) and the backing for a pink bird quilt. After I was done with the reno, I had to clean up, so I went into the studio and cleared off the ironing table, and ironed all the pink fabric I had bought.

Once I had some space cleared up, I put the pink birds back up on the design wall.  I just threw them up, didn't plan them. Looking them over I decided I needed another pink flamingo, because if I only had one, the design would be a bit lopsided. Here's the first one:

I knew I wanted the second flamingo to face the first one. I also knew I wanted one to look like a guy flamingo and one to look like a girl flamingo. I thought the one I had was a guy and I had to make a girl but as I was working I realized I already had my girl, so I needed to make the guy just a bit taller.

The new guy flamingo is on the left. And I think the pair of them are pretty darn terrific.

While the pair of them are based on my Liberated Birds, there are no specific instructions on how to make them. But you can make bird using my tutorial that you can get here.
