If there is anything I have learned from seeing students make my birds is that when it comes to fabric selection, almost anything goes. This bird pushes the envelope like that.
After an interlude of a couple of weeks, my granddaughter and I will resume our cooking sessions this coming weekend. In honor of Easter I suggested we make some Funfetti cupcakes. You've seen them, the cupcakes filled with colorful sprinkles, frosted with more sprinkles on top. I made some a couple of years ago, but I didn't have the right kind of sprinkles. I have since acquired the right kind. (You need like 1-1/2 cups of the stuff to make a complete frosted cake.)
And then I had another idea, since my granddaughter and I both love PINK... so I did a bit of searching...
YES! You can in fact buy large quantities of PINK sprinkles. At first I didn't know if I should be thrilled or repulsed.
After another quick Google search I discovered that pink confetti cupcakes are definitely a thing.
WELL! I am definitely going to have to make some of those with my DGD. And so, a container of these pink sprinkles is heading towards my house, and yes, another one is headed to DGD, because.. you know!
HEY! I'm a Grandmother! Going over the top is my job, and I'm damn proud of it!

I always get carried away when shopping for the grands, especially when I'm online. I haven't tried making funfetti/confetti cakes from scratch. Have fun with your DGD!
Grandma called get it is my proud refrain when my daughter says the girls want something slightly ridiculous ulous.
Hahahahahahahaha!!!! If we can't have fun at our age, when CAN we have some fun?? I needed this post this morning, I've been a bit down this week. Great reminder that I should look for something FUN to do, even if I do it alone. It will benefit me, at least! Thank you!!
FABULOUS!!
All pink sprinkles? Who knew? My granddaughter likes to bake with chocolate- lots of it. Love the Tuesday bird.
