I got to this point and realized I sewed the lavender bird to the top panel (underneath the small orange bird) too soon. So I took it apart. The problem is the last seam should be one going to an outer edge. Much less fiddly.
I fixed it, and then sewed all the panels together. The end result is exactly the same but it was easier to do.
Good news: the water heater was covered by the warranty and all I had to pay was the cost of installation. (phew!)

Oh wow - looking good! Isn't it great how all these birds look so good together? I love the creativity that this pattern/tutorial offers.
Nice to see it go together so well. This is the part that goes all wonky for me and won't lay flat. Looks terrific.
The top looks great. Having made the order of assembly error more than once I know it can slow you down mentally more than physically. In other news, congrats on the warranty coverage! Not necessary but a great surprise. I know I hate dipping into the emergency fund. I do add monthly so it is there but taking out?
Such a lovely variety of birds!
