It's the Little Things

Although it's warm underfoot, carpeting in the bathroom, particularly around the toilet, is kinda gross. I had been planning to fix that in 2020, but Covid got in the way. I had planned to do it in January, but again, Covid got in the way.

This past weekend, nothing got in the way.

Yes, that's a new toilet. It's TALL, and it's low water use, and most importantly, it works. (The other one was a little sluggish) Count me a very happy camper indeed.

When we had new lino in our kitchen and dining area, that matched up with the laundry and short part by the front door, I hadn't realised how totally happy I could be with new flooring. I agree, carpet is not the best, and your new room looks fabulous.Taller toilets are the new way now, and less water, if you have to pay for water or are on tank water, better still.

Yeah carpet is awful in the bathroom. Your new bathroom looks fabulous, especially with the quilt hanging on the wall.

Hooray for the new toilet! The rest is icing on the cake but a new toilet that flushes quickly and completely with that little extra height is a win for sure.

I love tall toilets!! We don't have them in this house, but we did put one in my parents' bath. I'll bet it didn't take forever to choose the linoleum, since you live alone. Looks great!

Ooh, you will not be sorry! We have those toilets-- they are great. Hate to think I'm getting older, but they are easier on the knees. Your new bath looks great. Great tile choice, too.

We have the tall toilets and kitchen height cabinets in the bathroom.
The only way to go....

I put in the tall toilets nearly 20 years ago when I redid my bathrooms. Using a lower toilet now seems like sitting on the floor!

Your new floor looks great! As does the little bit of the wall hanging. We had carpet in the bathroom in our old house. Vile and disgusting doesn't cover what was in and under that carpet. The subfloor around the toilet had to be replaced too. Truth be told, I'd love to replace ALL the carpet with hard floors, but someone else in the house disagrees.
The older I get, and the crabbier my hip gets, the more I love the taller toilets. There are days I wonder if I'll need to yell for help if I have to use the regular height ones when I'm out away from home.

Much better! Looks so nice and crisp. The wall hanging adds to it! Congratulations on just getting it done.

Nicely done!

Tall toilets rock! I agree with so many of the other commenters on the discomfort of using a standard (lower) height commode (that's southern speak for toilet). And that floor - WHAT an improvement!!!
