Last Row of Boxes - Update

I've sewn the last row of the Holiday Boxes together. With luck I'll have the flimsy sewn up over the weekend.

I called about getting a larger mat. The most economical one is twice as big as I need. I've contacted the retailer to ask if they can cut it in half for me. They said they'd get back to me, but so far I haven't heard a reply. The mat on the table above is only two feet wide (or high in my case) and I really need a bigger one.

I've already ordered some double stick tape to hold the mat in place on my table (right now I use big clamps at the corners. I keep getting poked by them.) I also bought an adhesive measuring tape that I can adhere to the bottom edge and I am looking around for a pencil ledge which will keep my stuff from falling off. Worse comes to worst I'll call my local glass company and get a couple of pieces of colored plexiglas and tape those to the bottom edge of the table to create a lip.

I registered for the vaccine. I am in Group 1B in my state. There are approximately 300,000 folks in my state with that designation and currently 20,000 doses are delivered each week, so doing the math it will take 15 weeks for all those in my group to be vaccinated. That brings us to the first week in May.

So I am not holding my breath that I will be called for an appointment any time soon. I will continue to have my groceries delivered and do as much shopping as I can online. I pick up my prescriptions at the drive thru pharmacy, and when I get gas (about once every 8 weeks) I wear a mask (and with the deadlier strain going around, I now double mask) and gloves. I always wear a mask when I am out and about, which isn't often.

I read, watch TV and Netflix (Lupin!), sew, work and cook/bake (Snacking Cakes is terrific!). I chat with my family on FaceTime. It sucks, but the alternative is worse.

UPDATE: I have a time and date for my vaccine appointment. It's at the end of February. Fingers crossed.

I an in WA state. The earliest I can get the 1st vaccine shot is in March and I'll need the 2nd shot in 21(?) days. I am not too hopeful though because of the lack of supply

We are 1b as well - our county is showing late Feb-March for the beginning of that phase. At the rate TN is currently vaccinating, they estimate 8 years to cover everyone in the state. That really needs to improve!

Sounds like the life mum is living. Staying home, minimal outside shopping. Mum is officially group 1B, but here the shots are being given for the most part by the health care providers, not the county or state. So you have to wait for them to contact you. Maybe President Joe can get a better system going so it goes faster.

Sounds like our state, too. Not enough vaccine to go around. I'm hoping that it gets better soon, because my hubby is in 1B and he really needs it. I'm in 1C, so who knows? Congratulations on getting an appointment!

I live in Connecticut nd after registering with the cdc, I tried for 2 weeks to schedule an appointment but there were no slots available I was almost ready to give up but gave it one more try and slots opened up and I was able to get the shot the next day which was yesterday. Now I have to start over to schedule the second shot. Don't give up! Hope all get your jabs soon.

I received an email 2 weeks ago from my health care system saying "don't call us, we'll call you. We hope to have everyone eligible vaccinated by the beginning of March". That now seems impossible since as of Saturday NY had used up it's supply and were functioning on a week to week basis. There are 7 million eligible in NY and only about 300,000 doses available each week (and I don't think they are actually receiving that amount). So doing the math, I'm not holding my breath.
At least the days are getting longer and spring will come eventually.

I’m in WA state and when our governor lowered the age to 65+ we immediately got online looking for an appointment. The time slots were rolling off the screen. I’d click on one, fill out my name and by the time I hit submit it was gone. Finally got a slot in a neighboring county. Had first shot Friday. I figure we can finally see our grandkids (and kids) at the beginning of March.

In ordered a LARGE mat, and they said they could cut it in half, and send me all the pieces. Should get it any day now.

I ordered the 2 x 4 mat and you are right! I love it. Thanks for reviewing it for everyone.
