This is the central part of the tree quilt. Look a bit familiar, but not quite? It's because this is upside down from the way you usually have been looking at it.
If you have been having a hard time with this quilt, with the trees going in four directions, it helps if you look at it strictly as an abstract design of color and shape.
The blocks on the vertical rows on either side have not been sewn together, but everything else has been. When I sew those long side chunks together, and then sewn those to the central panel, I'll flip the quilt upside down as in the first photo and design the extra row across the top (because my design wall isn't big enough).
I know I've said it before, but I am really, really, really, liking this quilt.

This is a well balanced and very interesting piece. It makes the pumpkins I'm presently stitching look like child's play. :) Enjoyed reading your posts about "trees".
I love the way this is going! I've just read the whole story of this quilt from it's inception, and find it very inspirational. Thank you. This has got ideas jumping round in my head; now to put them down on paper!

It’s really get beautiful. You’re right. Looking at it as an abstraction or a whole helps me cope with the trees going different directions. Do you have plans for it once it’s finished? It’s going to be done in no time.
I really like your arrangement. It reminds me of some applique quilts from IQF years ago that gave the perspective of looking up from the ground. Trees came up from the four corners, getting smaller towards the center. This is just a further abstraction. Congratulations on piecing your vision.
