Sometimes fabric just jumps off the shelf and says PICK ME! PICK ME! So it was with the wing on this bird. The breast and beak fabric chimed right in.
I think I'll let somebody else figure out this bird's story. You, perhaps?

she's a farmer, resting for the winter, and waiting for spring to break, when it's time to plow, plant, sow, weed, tend and harvest.
I see her as one of Mother Nature's assistants -- ready to spread the glorious joy of springtime's green with the world . . .
Oh wow, he's so organic.....woodsy. I like him very much. Perhaps he's from Sherwood Forest.
Lynne, I have lost internet connections to my desktop computer as the result of a line fault. Given that today is a public holiday, followed by a weekend, it may well be next week before I'm back up and running. I'm scratching along on a borrowed iPad - but I hate typing on it, so it's not sensible for me to contribute my version of a story for this lovely green bird. I have been concerned that by writing stories about your birds I may have stifled other people from writing their own version, so I'm hoping that my silence will encourage other people to 'have a go'.
Come on everyone - it's fun!

I think she is an "eco" bird who cares about the environment! Probably has a solar heated nest, too! Thanks for sharing all of your birds - I am really enjoying them. Maybe a bird quilt is in my future!
Shhh! Listen! Over there.... no, over here.
You'll never see Ms Greenie McCarthy. She may be right out in the open next to you, but you won't know it. Her camouflage is nature's perfection. She needs it to survive, as she is the introvert of introverts. She doesn't want to be seen ever. In spite of her shyness, she sings a lovely tune, a clear whistle that ends in a twitter. I'm sure you have heard it. You just cannot locate it, because wherever it comes from there is no bird. Greenie is a master ventriloquist. She learned that trick from her friend Edgar B. She is forever grateful to him that she has a voice, and can rejoice without giving herself away.
