I finished cutting all the big diamonds, so I thought I'd see what they looked like up on the design wall.
That looked ok, sorta, but I knew I needed another vertical row.
And then, of course, I had to rearrange them.
Then I started cutting the medium sized diamonds and throwing them up on the wall. I quickly realized that some of the fabrics I had pulled were a bit on the dark side, so I raided the stash. (Duh!)
This arrangement is by no means final, I just need to get a feel for where this wants to go. I know where I want it to go, but I really need the little four patch diamonds that will fill in all the white spaces before I know for sure.

Wonderful, I do like the combination of larger and small diamonds. Batik stash, mine is getting reduced with the next project, and in fact I might even have to resort to buying in some blues!!! Waiting to see what the next colours are for you.
I rather like the white or cream in between - it makes the diamonds pop out. Might get too blended with 4 patch diamonds in there. Good start and such interesting fabrics.
Oh, she is going to be thrilled - what a LUCKY girl to have you making THIS quilt for her!
Ohh I'm really liking what you've done so far, can't wait to see the finished quilt.
I side with Judy in Michigan, love the cream between the diamonds. Guess I am a Plain Jane sort of girl.
Lynn, your quilts are always beautiful and this one will be especially so, lucky, lucky lass to be getting it.
