Quilts in Maine

Kathy had said she needed help photographing some of her quilts, so I brought my quilt stand with me.

That lovely wall in the garden is a perfect background. (And Meagan, it's red-orange, not orange, and it isn't too bright.)

My quilt, "Life is Tweet" looks very handsome in this setting.

So does this quilt of Kathy's.

And this one, which I absolutely adore.

Of course, beauty shots were "de riguer."

Not everything looked best against the wall, of course. This beauty was best on the grass.

This flimsy was tossed over the fence.

Another one of Kathy's beautiful quilts, this one draped over the front porch railing.

We didn't just take pictures of quilts.

 Shopping was involved.

As was sewing, on Kathy's nifty little featherweight.

Really, do vacations get any better than this?

No they don't... looking at quilts, shopping and sewing just about sums up perfection! I love that folded fabric printed with "I Make Stuff".

Wow, I could make comments today as long as your post! Love it all, especially the quilt on the grass, and OH, that pinwheel!! Really taking a shine to those zebras folded in the basket, too. Like I said, I could go on and on ..... :D

The building in the background is such a wonderful spot. It provides something that makes the quilts pop.

If you are enjoying yourself, then it is a good vacation. No matter what you are doing.

I remember Life is Tweet when it was just a flimsy (I took the class). This picture really shows off the quilting. Amazing!

Kathy's beautiful home, garden & amazing painted wall all made the perfect backdrops for showcasing all those wonderful quilts & even made them look more fabulous than they already were (if that is even possible). You are both very creative & original quilters. I can see why you love Kathy's little quilts, esp. the hand-pieced houses. Have a safe trip home where I'm sure the "real" Millie will be happy to see you when you get home.
