Am I the only person who is counting down the hours until the new Poldark airs on Masterpiece Theatre tonight?
I watched the one from the 70's when it aired back then, and please, somebody, tell me I'm not the only middle-aged female who'll be glued to the TV tonight...
I know, I know, I'm an incurable romantic, and probably way too old for this, but wth? If you call my house when it's on, don't expect me to pick up the phone.

Lynne - we've just seen it here in Australia. It is worth watching - glorious scenery, among other things. But the chap who plays Poldark isn't in the same league as Colin Firth's Mr Darcy for my money! LOL

You are not the only middle aged woman, and in my case waaay past, who us waiting for Poldark tonight. Yikes, this new one is quite steamy.
If there's hope for a new Mr Darcy then I'm in. I was looking for something to watch before Half and Catch Fire.
I was going to watch but didn't think it would match up to the original! Robin Ellis was superb in the original as was Angharad Rees but I'll be interested to see what others think about it.
I'm torn. I didn't see the original and am very curious about this new version but also have concerns that in this new age some scenes may be too graphic for my taste.
I have it all taped ready to watch.

I recorded it to watch tonight. The US Open was on at our house last night. I loved the original back in the 70's but in re-watching a episode recently couldn't believe how dated it was. I'm looking forward to the new one and hopefully the beautiful Cornish scenery. And I am well past middle age.
I missed it last night... had to go to a family event at the last minute...will catch it again later this week...I've been looking forward to this series and several others on PBS...such good stories...and yes I am a woman of a certain age... significantly past the middle...LOL!
