I got home late New Year's Eve to find a package from Kathy on my doorstep. She and I became blog pals and she visited me last August.
Inside the package was a note,
and a package wrapped in fabric!
Inside were two charming pot holders / hot pads.
I love them! Who can every have too many pot holders? I may have a hard time actually USING these, however.
Thanks Kathy!

It is often the unexpected surprise that brings the most joy . . . gorgeous potholders!
You are welcome! Tell Millie to hide your old pot holders. Then you'll have no problem using the new ones! I've been using mine and yes they get dirty, etc, but they survive well with a stint in the washing machine, too.
Surprises are such fun! Happy 2013. I gal can't have too many pot holder! Enjoy.
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
Lynne, I stole the first line from your note. I was thinking when this was posted what a generous friend and yes it is to get a gift after the big day. Before Christmas I had made off gifts to my father and his wife in Florida, was told by USPS that the delivery date would be the 24th. They never said anything about receiving the gifts so I figured it slipped their minds or just plain didn't like the gifts. Well yesterday, same as your post they called me to say they had received my gifts just that day. Right off my tongue I said " after Christmas surprises are the best!"
Best to you for 2013, I enjoy your blog, love the art education you add.
Rondi
