Finishing Up The Black Box

I've prepared the backing and the binding for the Black Box quilt. Here is the backing I have selected:
I bought it this past summer when I was thinking of magic and a theater as a setting for the Black Box.  It's probably not what I might have selected now, but I love the fabric, and it will be great.

For the binding, I found this:
I don't want the binding to be an edge around the quilt. I want the binding to practically disappear.

I want to make a hanging sleeve before I send the quilt to be quilted. It's nice to have everything ready to finish it up when the quilt comes back from being quilted.

Then I did this:
I cleaned the studio. I can't tell you how good this makes me feel!

Always love my sewing room all clean and orderly. Funny how I short period of time it can get messed up.

the backing fabric is pretty doggone cool, but i LOVE the binding - it will be random enough in binding-width-size to not get in the way of the background ... way cool!

FABULOUS backing fabric . . . you already know I love the binding, too.

Enjoy that "cleaned up" feeling!

Looks like your studio is ready for the next big project :o) I think the binding fabric is going to do exactly what you want. Your backing fabric is lovely, it sayes Leaon Bakst... Ballet Russe... Schehereazade... Which for its time was definitely out of the box. But that's just me :o)
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
