I'm getting my lesson plan ready for the free-pieced letters class I'll be teaching in three weeks at Quilted Threads. This word, WINK, is one of my samples. This particular exercise is about using your fabrics to their full potential.
The finished letters are 5" (about 13 cm) tall and the word is 23" (58cm) wide.
Here is the word before I trimmed it.

Great use of fabrics and color. I've always wondered if wink was a color which one it would be..wink wink. Love it. Bet they will dearly love you in your class!!!
Great example!! Classes love examples/inspiration! You'll be great.
You are so amazing to me how you have such a distinct style with your lettering. I love the WINK....You will have some students that are sure to become groupies for you! FUN FUN! Em
Love the use of your fabrics....your class will be so much fun.
Love the word! The fabrics are lovely and still in the same family of colors, so the letters read as one word. Have you ever made letters of all different colors in the same word? Does it work as one word?
Hugs,
Terri, you can, but it's tricky to get it just right!
I have such a hard time getting my letters similar in size.. I need more practice!
