I was part of a Wedding yesterday. A dear friend our family got married. My mother painted the silk chuppah (canopy). The wedding was at a nature preserve as the couple love the great outdoors. The painted elements on the chuppah included seahorses, birds, flowers, fish, crabs (long story) and a great blue heron.
The poles for the chuppah were white birch trees. I attached ribbon tabs at each corner of the chuppah, as the couple wanted to hang it over their bed after the ceremony. The poles are also decorated with colorful ribbons that floated in the wind. It was quite lovely.

It's beautiful!!! I can see where your artistic talent came from. I also noticed the ribbons - from a different merchant I'm sure. Enjoy the day today before you go back to work. Looking forward to more letters.
Wonderful Chuppah! I made an applique one a few years ago--and it was a challenge--
Stunning!!!
Looks like a beautiful piece for a wonderful occasion.
A Chuppah is always beautiful at a Jewish wedding especially if it's hand made.
Fondly,
Etty
The effect of the ribbons was worth the struggle...
Your mother is very talented! Love the chuppah!
Please tell your mother for me that it is absolutely beautiful. I so wish I could paint like that. The whole look and ceremony sound beautiful. How cool they'll be using it afterwards as well.
