"I had to break every damn rule"
Rules???
I thnk somebody around here had something pithy to say about rules recently. If I could only remember...
What is wrong with breaking rules? I am breaking some myself as I try my hand at letter. I love yours!I removed my first comment,, I mispelled a word.
There is a quote attributed to the Dalai Lama that says we must learn the rules so we can properly break them. I'm not sure there actually are any rules to free-piecing letters, but if there are, you have broken them beautifully.
Actually Sophie, when I was in college studying Lettering, my professor always said you had to learn the rules first before you break them. I'm a big believer in that.
Thank you for the lovely compliment.

I'm glad you take the path of not following the rules. Can't wait for your new book to be released!
