I love these. I did an alphabet quilt for my niece 4 years ago, but it was all English piecing, never again, this liberated ones look much more fun. Thank for sharing the journey!

Your letters are great!! Did you make them 'freehand' or did you use a pattern?
Dearest Diane, they are free pieced, and you will be able to learn how when you buy Tonya Ricucci's book, "Word Play Quilts", published by Martingale Press, due out December 7 2010.
I never use patterns of any kind. I'm stubborn that way.
I envy you ... no patterns! I wish I could be more adventuresome :) Thanks for the info on Tonya's book - will be looking into it!
