This was my final plan for the layout of the letters for SLITHER for
Tonya's Halloween Noises Quilt.

As you can see, the letters fit into each other, so I can't just make them normally and sew them together. To get them to fit the way I wanted them to, I have to put them together differently.

Which takes a lot of planning. I hate wasting fabric, and time, so I worked it out in detail. After dinner last night I got started. Here's what I have so far.

By way of reference, each letter is 2-1/2" high and 7-1/2" wide. You can click the pictures to enlarge.

Your patience is amazing and I'm in awe of the way you've worked it all out. I'm sitting here surrounded by pieces of black and lime green fabric as I can't make my S work and it's driving me nuts!
Love how the letters butt into each others blocks....really fun!
it looks great. I've wondered how to make the letters overlap -- and your plan is great. thanks for showing us.
A very slithery slither -- love how you planned it out!
you are such a hoot. So great to see how you're piecing those letters together - thanks for taking the time to do that!
