I found this really nifty tutorial for potholders over on ..and Sew On's blog. I thought they'd be great using selvages, so I made one yesterday afternoon. I added a little loop at the top, because I hang my potholders near the stove. These potholders are nifty in that you stick your hand in them like a mitt...
Aren't they great?
It wasn't until afterward that I realized the business side of these was covered in pretty selvages. You know what happens to potholders... they get dirty and yukky looking. But then I thought, oh well, I can just make more!

Super cute! I'll have to go and check out this tutorial.
Thanks for sharing!
I checked out the tutorial and will be making some of these. I bought some that were like this but heart shaped with bias tape around them. This way looks stronger and easier. I'm not a fan of adding bias tape.
gorgeous...
Oh, I'm planning to do some pot holders really soon. I've had that Insul-Bright out on my sewing table for weeks.
What nice pot-holders. I might just make a couple of these. Thanks for sharing.
Now that is a way to use up what would normally be in the trash! That is so neat! You go girl!
You mean you are going to ACTUALLY
use that 'cute' potholder???
