My free-pieced birds require only four fabrics - wing, breast, beak and legs.
Birds are so flexible. You can make them tall or short.
You can make
them with big beaks or short beaks.
You can give them fat bellies or
thin ones.
They are so much fun to make, and you can't make just one! You can get my tutorial here, at my Etsy shop. It's an instant download so you can get started right away.
Did you see the quilt Julie just made? She even put a big bird on the back of her quilt.

Thanks for the shout out -- I love this latest bird quilt and our youngest nephew's wife is THRILLED with the recent gifting of Just Wing It (she worked in the bird area of a zoo before she developed auto immune disease and had to resign her zoo keeper position).
Cute variations.
