I used the same fabric as the backing for the binding of the Wavelength quilt.
Since I had to get it in a box and on the way to the West Coast ASAP, I machine sewed the binding down.
This really is a pretty quilt.
I brought it outside for some beauty shots.
I took pictures of it in the melting snow. (I hear you all thinking... "AAAARRRGGGH! It's gonna get WET!" or "It's gonna get DIRTY!!!" My answer: That's what washing machines are for.)
I thought this would be a nice juxtaposition, because in a week or so the quilt will be living in warm, sunny Mexico and will never encounter snow again.
It's so annoying. You find a great spot - rocks, trees, branches, untouched snow, for the quilt, and you take the picture. Then you look at it in the camera and you see the dark shadow of a tree.
Oh well!
You can click the pictures and then click again to enlarge them and see all the details. The quilting on this quilt is particularly lovely.

If somebody said to me that they were going to do an art piece with hot pink, purple, and bright orange, I would say "Oooookaaaaaayyyy?" But seeing it all done...DAMN!
Beautiful and love the purple binding!
This pretty quilt will definitely be able to hold it's own against the Mexican sun. BTW, I really appreciate being able to enlarge your photos for more detail. I read a number of quilting blogs and it is so discouraging when there are only tiny photos.
I wash quilts at least once before I send them out and if I take them to the beach or on a hike into the wild they get washed again and if the quilt is for a baby I hope the first thing the parents do is wash the quilt before getting it near the baby. If it can't be washed as needed, it isn't needed as a quilt.
Love, love, LOVE the boulder shots!!! It's a lovely finish. Congrats!!
Every time I see your beauty shots I think I need to make some for my quilts. This one should be well loved.
