R.I. P., Dryer

My dryer died this past weekend. It was at least 22 years old, so I can't really complain. After grumbling about it for a couple of days I took the plunge and went shopping online.  Then after a quick dinner, my dad and I went to the local big orange box hardware store and bought a new one. I had to buy a new dryer vent and power cord too, and pay for the old one to be removed. And it will be white, not beige (as if I care).

It will be here next week. I'd almost like to say I can't wait, but seriously, it's only a dryer.

Oooh, expensive! But I hope the new one lasts just as long! :)

My new appliances barely last 3 - 5 years now. So sad...

It's okay to say you can't wait. It is a pain to be without one and new appliances are an atypical "happy" in our lives (we solved a problem, we made our chores easier, etc.)

p.s. 22 years is impressive though.

Oh Lordy.... what a laugh! As a quilter the color always matters in a project....hell even the wrong shade of white can have us climbing the walls....but an off color appliance in the laundry area.... just give me the best price with the features I want.

my mom's dryer is a Maytag and it's over 32 years old!!! She still loves it.... Don't think you can buy them quite as well made as that anymore, but my last Maytag did live for 18 years....

Mum's dryer was losing it last year. She got new washer and dryer, so much nicer.
