Inspiration

The company I work for has a deal with a local florist. For a fixed sum, every Monday we get a new fresh flower arrangement.

This is the one they brought by on Monday. DAMN, this is gorgeous.

Deep blue violet (the calla lillies,) the deep red (dunno what they are), the brilliant yellow sunflowers and the little blue thistles (?) and a little bit of pink...

There's a quilt in here, I'm sure of it.

I think the thistles might be "Echinops" and the deep pink/red a Celosia. What a glorious display, all those could be in a quilt.

This is gorgeous. I just bought some sunflowers yesterday and was wishing I knew what to do with them. They are beautiful on their own but the addition of other blooms really makes the whole thing pop. I agree - there is a quilt in there. :D

Mother Nature (with a little help from the floral designer) - awesome inspiration!

How wonderful!! When I worked (I am retired now) I would stop at the local market if my garden was bare, and pick up a bouquet for my desk..just a small something to brighten the area. Of course I had a pastel string of Christmas lights around my walls at ceiling level that always set a cheerful mood when I needed it. Nope, don't miss that office at all, lol.

Nancy J is correct. Celosia the deep red is commonly called Cockscomb. Echinops has the common name of Globe Thistle. Cant see the little bit of pink well enough to identify. It may a decorative grass. Striking bouquet.

How lucky you are to have such a thoughtful company to work with and an over the top floral designer to fill the order. It is beautiful!

I can't see any pink? where is it? Unless you're talking about the sides of the cockscomb?

How sweet to have fresh flowers each week!
