Pinks @ Seven
Since the "A" block of the Deco quilt is three six inch strips sewn together, I went through my stack of strips and cut many of them down to 7". Why 7" and not 6-1/2"? Heck, I'm a free-piecer. I don't like being limited. I would rather have something a bit bigger I can trim down to perfection rather than sew some blocks that might be a smidge too small. Call me persnickety if you want.
You won't hurt my feelings.

I think that is a perfect idea and good advice. Happy sewing!
Pretty!!! The colors and the prints. Lucky Little Lady!
This is a really pretty collection of fabrics. Look forward to seeing what you do with it.
As a new block builder...I appreciate the "permission" to build bigger and trim to size. Thank you very much, lol. I needed that!
have a great weekend.
xx, Carol
I would always rather trim that be short or uneven. I try as hard as I can, but my piecing is never spot on.
That's the way I cut also. forget 7/8", never, never.
Love the colours.
I'm with you. I try, I really, really try, but my piecing isn't always the best. So if I can make it a bit larger and trim down, I'm all for it. Love all the pinks.
