Boy, was I wrong.
Blogging has brought me a new life, and some of the best friends a person could ever ask for. It's easy to forget though, as I write my posts, that although I have a regular "readership" who leave comments, there are a lot of other readers I never know about. Earlier this week I got this email from Valerie whose beautiful email reminded me of the power of One.
Her letter left me awed, humbled and speechless. Here it is.
Hello Lynne,
Greetings from Nova Scotia.
I wanted to take a quick moment to thank you. I have been following your blog for a while now and enjoy it so much!!
You see...
Because
you blog I have daily inspiration. I am never alone. Your blog has
taken me to other blogs and my view has expanded enormously. Links are
wonderful things!
Because you blog I have
permission to play. I can make whatever I want. I can cut off points and
allow myself to embrace my own imperfection. The process has become so
exciting. I have photos of pieces during construction that are more
exciting to me than the finishes.
Because you blog I am challenged to try new things. I can make letters and can build cows, dogs and even motorcycles.
Because
you blog the new things I try are fresh, fun and exciting. I had long
ago gotten bored with traditional patchwork but now once again have a
fire within in me to push beyond what ever I did last time. I am excited
and motivated.
Because you blog I am creating
things that inspire others to create things. Physical objects exist in
my home and in the homes of people I care about because of you.
Because you blog the circle continues and we all grow.
Thank you for your blog.

Thank you, Valerie -for taking time to let Lynne know ! We all get so busy, we neglect to say thank you often enough ... Your work is WONDERFUL!
Thanks also to you, Lynne - for sharing this awesome email and photos with all of us!
I regret I did not leave that comment first - I have really learned to "let go" when quilting because of reading your blog. I've been introduced to a lot of new blogs - because you mentioned them. I love Exuberant Color so much. Thank you for that one.
Your quilts are lovely - funny and so well crafted. I don't know how you get so many done and work too. I have to admit tho that it was Millie that brought me here. That girlie cat stole my heart from day one of reading her story online in a post from the man who saved her.
Thanks again. This online community business is grand.
Valerie expressed our feelings exactly and in a beautiful way - I would like to add my name to the list of grateful readers.
Although I have not got as far as Valerie, I have started to push myself in a less inhibited direction. Your play by the rules got me and I have been following faithfully since. Lizzie has been keeping tabs on Millie as well.
a tribute to and from awesomeness!
Love, love, love the "crazy" quilt. It will be my inspiration. I have learned so much from "exuberant" bloggers.I have a list of favorites if anyone is interested.
I totally agree, thank you!
What a beautiful letter/gift! That's another great reason to get up in the morning and blog!
I also totally agree with Valerie! I also LOVE Millie!!
Oh, that is so lovely!! What gifts you have given each other.
What an amazing letter, thank you for sharing it with us. Food for thought in every word.
I completely agree with Valerie - you are an inspiration to me! I can't wait to read your blog every time there is a new post up. And I've learned so much from you as well. Your blog is a gift to many people.
And thank you for publishing Valerie's letter and the photos of her quilts. Her work is awesome! And her words of praise to you are well deserved.
Your words are like ripples in a pond. Who knows who you will inspire next?
and thank you, Valerie. what a lovely thing to say.
So totally awesome. Valerie's quilts are fabulous and to think you've inspired Valerie to explore and love quilting again....well, it shows how inspirational you are. I know you are going places with your quilts.
