Doll Quilt Swap 9

Here is the finished top of my doll quilt for Doll Quilt Swap 9. I'm pleased with it. I like the row of on point squares all around. I would have liked the corners to match more perfectly, but it was tricky with six colors and the size limitation (24" square.)

Now I have to figure out how to quilt it!

I love the offbeat corners, they fit well with the birdies.

I love your birdies. I have a pile of butterfly blocks I made years ago, maybe I need a couple birds to fly with them so I think I'll try your pattern. I like your unique use of fabrics to look like feathers, especially the red and white one. The borders are perfect.

I love the doll quilt! and I think the border is perfect! I was so inspired by your birds and so grateful for your pattern, that Sunday during a bit of "play time" I made my first bird. I'm sure the second will be better and go quicker since I learned much making that first one. Thank you for the pattern and inspiration.

I just had to write to tell you that your birds are so inspiring! I'm making a quilt for my niece's baby-to-be, and I'm using your adorable bird pattern for part of it. I couldn't stop thinking about the possibilities!

Also love your typography quilt. It's a great idea! I saw an exquisite vintage quilt at the Museum of American Folk Art in NY several years ago, with a bible verse in large letters. It was probably applique, but had the same feeling as yours. I wish I could find a photo of it.

Oh, I meant to say thank you in the post above. I'm new to quilting and especially to paper piecing, so your bird pattern is quite an eye opener for me. – Marcia
