Dot-Dot-Dot

One of these colors is singing for me. The other two, not so much.

Which one do you like, and why? You can click the photos to enlarge. The last one is a pretty soft green, even though it doesn't show up well in the photo.

Oh #1! It brings out the light in the window.

The first one is my favorite. It really brings out the other colours.

the first one would be my choice, it is more keeping with the primary or bright colors of the overall quilt. the red/orange and yellow also compliment the rainbow effect of the number colors more than the other two options.

Initially I thought #2, as the focus stays on the numbers. With #1, my focus was drawn to the border by the bright colour, rather than the numbers.

After reading the comments, I had another look, and I do really like #1. It does add to the brightness and light of the quilt.

I can't decide! But it's out of those two for me :)

I like #1 for the contrast.

Definitely the top one - the other two aren't saturated enough to "go" with everything else...

I like #1 ~ it is "happier" and it plays best with the other colors (value, shade, balance, etc.).

It also has a marvelous effect on the window and the background fabric behind the numbers!

If I have to give a second choice, it would be #2 (the purple tones play well with the sky - leaning it towards an evening look -but it doesn't do anything at all for the window and it doesn't read "pop" like #1 does).

#3 just doesn't do anything for me at all.

I am going to go and vote for the middle one. It ties it to the big blog of blue below!

I'm also in the boat for number one, with number two as my second choice. Number three just lays there silently...

Oh, and spools in your sampler quilt is a brilliant idea. I'm amazed one of us didn't think of it sooner!

Hmm...I actually like the last two. I think the yellow makes the numbers look like part of the border and not part of the sampler. Does that make sense at all?? Either way, it will be a wonderful quilt :)
