My son looked at my first house and said, Mom, it's crooked. The windows should line up. I said, "It's supposed to be wonky."
Clare commented, 'Lovely. Can we have a bit more "wonky" in the next one?'
Too funny.
So I asked my son if he would like to design one. He picked a house, and told me what colors should go where. He was quite specific, "Cream, orange, light blue, green..."So I picked out some fabrics, determined to make this house a bit wonkier than the first, and have some fun with the fabrics as well.
I can't wait until he sees this!
Heh!

He better watch out you might want him to do all your houses from now on. Great job to the both of you.
Another day another house. This one is truely wonky.
The wonky people need their houses, and the not-so-wonky people need theirs -- that's what it's all about! :)
I love the fabric you used for the background on this house.
This is one of the nicest wonky houses I've ever seen. It is so much fun and boy, does he have some great design sense!
That's better! Now for some wonky windows?
Love the background fabric too.
very fun!
You are amazing! I am having so much watching you build your wonky (yes I love wonky anything) houses!
Too fun....
My actual house is wonky. I love that word by the way. I used in my blog yesterday!
You've probably unleashed a designing demon, turning your son's drawing into a quilt block. What fun for both of you!
The frog batik is great. I made a scrub top for a daughter out of a similar batik. She's an x-ray tech, and she saves that top for days when she works in the pediatrics wing of her hospital. The kids love it. Frogs in a wonky house are just as much fun!
I love the rakish roof on this one!
What a great way to get him involved. Wish my kids were still at home to do that with. Well, maybe not. Sure is quieter (and cleaner) around here since they grew up and moved out. LOL
I love making these houses - this one is great.
P.S. not sure when "wonky" became a substitute for "liberated"! It's interesting.
I am loving these wonky houses! It's going to be a great quilt!
Oh, I love this one! It is a bit more wonky...and I like that about it...
