This is a Tourtière. It's a French-Candian meat pie. It is made with various kinds of meat and mashed potatoes. My grandmother used to make it. I haven't had one in years and decided with the snow falling outside that it would be a great dish to make. My grandmother had a little gizmo that made those rosette openings in the crust. Gosh it was good, and really took me back.
I finished the Scrap Slab Triangle Rainbow flimsy. I'll have to think of a name and order the backing for it.

Isn't it just THE BEST to be retired when it snows and you can stay home with ZERO guilt! The finished quilt top is so pretty in the winter sunshine. The meat pie sounds intriguing.
ReplyDeleteYour meat pie is beautiful! It is wonderful to just stay in when it snows….we had 4” of snow fall and it’s so much more beautiful when you get to stay put. Your quilt reminds me of reflections through a crystal.
ReplyDeleteWhen I retired (gosh, it's been 12 years), one of the things I was looking forward to was being able to look outside at the snow and know I didn't have to go anywhere. It was 4 degrees F here this AM. Brrr.
