Millie

I took this picture of Millie on Saturday afternoon on Feb 12 2022. She spends as much of her time as she can lying on me, when I am lying on the couch covered with a quilt. She doesn't like it when I do NOT lie down.

This is a view looking down. You can see she is a lot thinner.

A month ago I found a shop in my town dedicated to cats - specifically elder cats with kidney issues. I bought a selection of foods that were good for Millie. She seemed to like one brand so I went back and bought more. But in the last week she has hardly been eating at all.

At her vet visit in December she had lost over a third of her body weight. So now she is even lighter than that.

I am trying to spend as much time as I can with Millie.

  1. Every moment matters - I'm glad you have a comfortable couch to lie on and lots of quilts the two of you can share. Hugs to you and gentle scritches to Millie.

  2. I am glad Millie is comfortable. My guy, Tugger, will be 13 in April and he has developed pancreatis which meant juggling all kinds of special foods and is now on Hills ID dry food. The only way he keeps it down is I pound it into crumbs in a ziploc. He still wants to eat like crazy, so that is good. His water intake is way up and still runs around at times. But I can read the tea leaves. So sorry you are going through this.

  6. Our old Felicity, she was 20, and struggled to eat food, I made it into a sort of gravy liquid, and she also lost weight. Darling Millie, I send all my caring thoughts flying North to you both.

  8. I lost my boy over 2 yrs ago (2 days before Christmas 2019) at 17 1/2 so I know how you're feeling. He lost quite a bit of weight as well. Just do what you're doing and spend every moment possible with her. Will be thinking of you.

  9. I'm so sorry. Millie has always had a lot of spunk. But you know that when you can't take care of her, Monty and Gizzy will take over.

  16. Sorry Millie is still losing weight, and now to not eat much at all. In the first photo, she looks like she's saying "Now look here human, you WILL lie down any time you are on this couch. NO exceptions." I wonder if she'd like one of those warmer pads to lie on when you can't be on the couch?
