I made a lot of blocks, and then got them up on the design wall, then stood across the room, took my glasses off and checked it all out. I didn't want too many of the same color blocks too close to each other. I didn't want too many busy blocks together. I didn't want too many darks clumped too close together. I tinkered with a pair of blocks, then another two pair, and then one pair again, and came up with this. Now I just need to add 240 black on white side triangles and sew it all up.
You know "all I have to do is..." hahahaha.
For Linda, who asked where I get my black on white prints, I buy them whenever I see ones I like, but lately though, it seems they are harder to find. I have bought many of these from eQuilter.
"All I have to do"... no more dangerous words have ever been spoken. Well done, this is great; the "slight" improvement is simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteLooking great!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteI like this! Actually, I like the first photo best, the one without the printed whites. If you consider using solid, bright white on this one, those 'gemstones' will sparkle! The printed whites mute the sparkles a little.
ReplyDeleteCathy Quilts, I do not like solids and were into make this quilt with a white background I would use an assortment of white on white fabrics.
ReplyDeleteStupid spell check. It should have read “ were I to make..”
