It was bound to happen. I had to break every damn rule and try to create totally unique letters based on my own handwriting. This piece, "Follow Your Bliss," is still unfinished. I will finish it, and I really love that "w".
There is a quote attributed to the Dalai Lama that says we must learn the rules so we can properly break them. I'm not sure there actually are any rules to free-piecing letters, but if there are, you have broken them beautifully.
Actually Sophie, when I was in college studying Lettering, my professor always said you had to learn the rules first before you break them. I'm a big believer in that.
