Well, the daft zebras almost did me in. I worked all weekend, and finally got the letters I wanted.
You can click the photo, then click it again to enlarge.

How many letters did I make in all?

Fifty-eight. The phrase has 30 letters.
Details later, I'm a bit exhausted!
I so loved the original ZEBRAS so I hope you will find a good use for it and the other extra letters.
ReplyDeleteYou have inspired me to try words. Today I picked out colors and a single background color - baby steps toward free piecing with flair. Mt quote has lots of letters - Life is a series if thousands of tiny Miracles. I am going to try!
Please excuse the typos in the last post. The quote is "my" and it is a series od tiny miracles.
ReplyDeleteDear stitchipenny, a single background fabric is a VERY good idea, but you will probably need at least THREE times as much as you think you will. So get LOTS.
ReplyDeleteLynne is right - at LEAST three times as much as you think you'll need . . .
ReplyDeleteThe Zebra quote is awesome ... you are going to have so much fun turning those "rejects" into an OOPS quilt . . . after you recover!
it looks great, especially with the background colours in the same tone and value. I agree, making letters takes lots of fabric. but its worth it!
ReplyDeleteIt's looking a lot better.
ReplyDeleteYup, making letters uses a lot of fabric, but you'll have great fun during the process.
Make alphabet soup!
