Party Animal at Work

 Before

 After:

Yup, It's hidden. I told you.

In other news, in a few weeks I'm having the carpet removed from the studio and having laminate flooring installed. Since I'll have to empty the studio for the work, I figured I better start giving the room a heavy duty clean and get rid of stuff I don't need. These bags on the table contain the excess quilt batting from the quilts I have had quilted over the years. I don't use the stuff and sure as hell don't need it occupying space in my studio, so it will go. Not quite sure where, but I have heard there are places that take donations of art supplies, so I will look into that before I throw these in the trash.

  1. There are quilters that will make frankenbats from the cut offs for charity quilts. You might want to ask at your LQS if they know of someone who can use them. With the deep clean and new flooring, you’ll have a wonderful sewing space!

  2. We have a lady in our quilt guild who takes batting scraps for dog beds. Maybe contact a local animal shelter and see if they have someone like her?

  3. Many churches have quilt groups making charity quilts and they are working off donations and don't mind basting larger batting scraps together to meet their needs.

  4. You will LOVE having a smooth surface floor in the studio! Chairs roll more easily and it is far easier to clean up stray threads, pins, and scraps. Ditto on the leftover batting - guide or church group that can use it for small projects or frankenbatts.

  5. Party Animal is too pretty to hide is my knee-jerk reaction. But then I thought why not? It's like wearing pretty underwear - no one else knows you have it on, but *you* do.
Oh my, what a task ahead of you not only emptying the whole studio, but decluttering at the same time. OTOH, what better time to declutter? The new floors will be fantastic for rolling chairs & clean-up.
